SA BOTRA will hold their AGM next Sunday in the Jubilee Room at Globe Derby at 1pm, the meeting will be preceded by a free BBQ at Noon. BOTRA has over 425 financial members and is growing every year, they are the “Voice of the Industry” and actively fundraise so they can put back into the industry in ways such as the Nursery Series, Battlers Night and social events such as Christmas in July which this year saw special guest Gary Hall Senior entertain the large crowd. Anyone wishing to attend the BBQ on Sunday prior to the AGM, please let Lois Randall or any BOTRA member know for catering purposes.

South Australian Harness Racing Awards luncheon will be held at Betezy Park Globe Derby on Sunday the 3rd November further details such as costs are yet to be released by HRSA, but the Sunday afternoon luncheon has proven popular in recent years.
Redevelopment high on agenda.
The HRSA Annual report is out ahead of this week AGM while the bottom line does not look great with just over half a million loss there is light at the end of the tunnel with the sale of development blocks at the front end of Globe Derby these four blocks the first of which has been sold and settlement is due next month will bring just over $5million into the coffers however this is a five year plus plan and while the rewards wont been seen straight away Harness Racing will benefit from the sale plus the redevelopment of the tavern on Port Wakefield road to attract extra customers.
The HRSA is committed to redeveloping Globe Derby Park the venue is badly in need of a face lift and these funds will go a long way into making the venue a first class facility.
