Southwind Trini took the top mares class for the second time this meet, this one in 1:52.1. Harness racing driver Jim Marohn, Jr. guided the 6 yo mare to the front through fractions of 27.4, 56.2 and 1:23.4. Right around the 3-quarter pole, Cloris Hanover made a spirited charge, even placing a head in front around the last turn, but Southwind Trini fought back and held to the wire to deliver the third winner of the night for Jim Marohn Jr.

Trainer Rob Harmon also picked up three wins tonight by taking the Mares Miracle Mile 2 event as well as sending out a winner in the GSY amateur series.

Live racing continues tomorrow with a special night post of 6:15 with 10 races followed by fireworks.
