Ryan Holliday won again with Spartan Victory

Winkys Pride did all the road work in Friday’s $11,000 Preferred 2 for trotters at Grand River Raceway, but when the dust settled it was Spartan Victory who got all the marbles.

Ryan Holliday got away fourth with Spartan Victory, and they remained in that spot through first-half fractions of :28 and :57.4 which were set by Winkys Pride. That tempo-setter was still in charge at the three-quarter pole in 1:27.4, but Spartan Victory was first-over and pressing the leader. Spartan Victory only needed a :31-second closing quarter to win by a neck over Stolen Goods in 1:58.4. Heres The Magic took home the show dough in the eight-horse affair.

Brad Pittock of London, Ontario owns and trains the seven-year-old son of Hard Rock N Roll-Kandys Kelsey, who won for the fifth time this season and for the 19th time in his career. The lion’s share of the loot boosted his bankroll to $142,444.
