HARRINGTON, Del. – Bill Sartin and Mark Salerno's Special T Rocks ($11, Jim Morand) was a repeat winner in Monday's $17,500 Open at Harrington Raceway in 1:50.2 over a sloppy harness racing racetrack.
Special T Rocks seized the lead from Im Supersonic A at the quarter mile in 27.4 seconds. Arque Hanover, who was parked the mile, applied pressure through the half-mile in 55.1 before yielding to three-quarters in 1:23.1. Poisonous forged a three-wide move but stalled and could not reel in Special T Rocks, who was three lengths the best. Arque Hanover was second with Poisonous third. It was the 46th career win for Special T Rocks, a 9-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding trained by Joe Hundertpfund Jr.
It was also the fastest mile of the Harrington meet thus far this year.
Art Stafford Jr. had three wins on the program.
