Special T Rocks and Daryl Bier - getting the job done.

Special T Rocks won the battle to the finish line to win the $16,000 3,4&5-Year-Old pace feature on Sunday, Dec. 11 at Dover Downs. Harness racing driver Matt Kakaley steered Charliesandjimmys to victory in a $13,000 event for 3&4-Year-Olds.

With Daryl Bier at the controls Special T Rocks had just enough to best Big Bad Eli in 1”51.2 to reverse last season’s duel between the three-year-old geldings. Bier trains and co-owns the son of Rocknroll Hanover-Ladys Special Girl with Forrest Bartlett and Joann Domback, to post his 10th win of the campaign and raise his seasonal earnings to $69,210. Tara Micket (Brad Hanners) picked up show honors.

Jim Lunn and Charles Wimbrow own the Mike Hall-conditioned Three Olives-Forever Jade gelding to a 1:54.1 victory, his fourth of the year. McWilliam (Jim King) finished second in front of Western Legend (Jon Roberts).

In a $10,500 sub-feature for female pacers, She’s A Cowgirl, overlooked at 31-1 after winning her two previous races, had just enough to hold off fast finishing Behind The Scenes (Jon Roberts) and CR Dream (George Dennis) in a 1:56.3 front pacing upset.

Ross Wolfenden and Sean Bier had driving doubles.
