With record entries across all classes the entire committee of the Victorian Standardbred Pleasure and Performance Horse Association were out in force for their State Championships at Eastfield Park in Croydon on Sunday 12 January.

The quality and the preparation that went into the horses on the day were amazing with all of them being turned out a treat.   Even the handlers and owners were dressed in their finest highlighting the pride that these people take in showing their horses.

It is great to see so many off the track horses being taken to shows and highlights the growing interest in the Standardbred as a showing, leisure and performance horse.

Harness Racing Australia in conjunction with the State Controlling Bodies are proud to be able to support the State Standardbred associations and look forward to presenting more articles on these activities during the year.
