Bad Rusty heads Dover feature pace

DOVER, Del. ---- Bad Rusty, a fast-finishing second in last Sunday's $20,000 Male Claiming Allowance pace, drew the rail in a nine-horse field at Dover Downs, on Jan. 5.

Only a half-length separated Nicole Ratledge and Crissman Inc.'s Bad Rusty and driver Tony Morgan from victory in this event a week ago and the gelding leaves from the rail. J&T Silva's Hot Roddy handled by Allan Davis, starts alongside. Owner-trainer Jeff Clark's Fifteen Four N, driven by Corey Braden, is a newcomer bringing a four wins in his last five outings at Rosecroft into the contest.

The other contestants include driver Trace Tetrick's Stubbs Hanover, third last week in his first local start. Grant Wilfong and Legacy Racing's Major Flight starts from post 9 in the second tier while Don Reed and Jim Tessmer's McElodian with George Dennis, Brian Vest's Volo,piloted by Tony Morgan, after racing in Chester and the Meadowlands, makes his first start of the meet. Ross Wolfenden drives Bettor's Arena for David Banks and Mike and Ed Reppucci while Idealist, owned by Bill and Barbara Kinsey, will have the services of Jim Morand.

Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; post time is 4:30 p.m. Each Friday and Saturday, the track will be dark for racing. On Sunday, races begin at 5:30 p.m.

For those planning to watch racing and dine in the Winner's Circle Restaurant, reservations are suggested. Call 302-674-4600. There is no charge for parking or admission at Dover Downs. Daily simulcasting of harness and thoroughbred racing daily begins 12 Noon until 12 Midnight.
