Trois-Rivieres, QC – After posting his sixth victory of the harness racing season last week, Surf Report returns to head Sunday's Preferred-Handicap Pace at the Hippodrome 3R.
Starting from post five in the seventh race feature, Surf Report was able to find outside cover last week for driver Tyler Jones and close from fourth place at the top of the stretch to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:56.2.
The seven-year-old gelded son of Sportswriter is trained by Armand Rousseau for owner Dany Nadeau of Sorel-Tracy and has finished on the board in nearly half of his 30 starts this year.
Rival Outlaw Turn N Burn (post 6) will seek to turn the tables this Sunday. Last week he was the one who raced first-over, giving Surf Report the ideal second-over coverage that he won off of. Outlaw Turn N Burn is trained and driven by Francis Picard.
Despite his outside post position 8, Kinnder Jackson won't be ignored in this race. Two starts back he tore away from the field to take a lifetime mark of 1:54.1 for driver Pierre Luc Roy.
Stock (post 4) will provide plenty of competition as he was raced timed in 1:54.4 in his last start and prior to that he was a 1:56.3 winner for driver Pascal Berube. Stock was a Quebec Series Champion at age 2.
The well-matched field also includes D J Power (post 7), a recent 1:55.3 winner, Maracassi (post 1), who two starts back won in 1:54.1, Mister Big Top (post 2), Bali (post 3) and Ninocredit (post 9, second tier).
Post time Sunday is 1:00 pm. For a free race program or to watch the races live from H3R, visit www.quebecjockeyclub.com.
