Sweetheart Dance is impresive at Northfield Park

Sweetheart Dance was successful, despite being parked the entire mile, in the $12,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap on Thursday (June 12) in Northfield Park's 10th race. She is trained by Kent Sherman for Pittsburgh, PA owner Keith Kippi. Dan Rawlings was aboard for the winning drive.

Sweetheart Dance (Yankee Cruiser-Somkindasweetypie-Life Sign) started from the outside and was parked every step of the way, through fraction of :27.3, :56.1 and 1:24.4. Sweetheart Dance struck the lead at the top of the stretch and bested her competition by ¾-length in 1:53.4. Completing the race were Ride A Cowboy, Eradikate, Ashtoreth Hanover, Viewish, Stacked Deck, African Violet, So Long My Love and Haley Louise.

Thursday's win was the fifth victory this year in 13 starts. It bolstered her career win tally to 17 and her lifetime earnings to $193,491. She returned $20.80 to win.
