TORONTO, OCTOBER 31 - Twelve dashes took place on Woodbine's Thursday programme with two-year-old fillies of both gaits headlining the Hallowe'en card.

The second $12,000 leg of the Autumn Series was held as the youngsters were vying for top spots to advance to the rich $25,000E finals next Friday.

In the lone trotting division, Sweetie Hearts stamped herself as the filly to beat in the final as she has now captured both preliminary legs.

The daughter of Angus Hall sat comfortable in third in the early stages for driver Mario Baillargeon before the opening quarter in :29.1.

Heading towards the half, Baillargeon angled the three-time winner to the front and she laid down panels of 1:00 and 1:30.1, before dashing away from her rivals to win by four and three quarter lengths in 1:59.3. Capturethememory (Scott Zeron) finished second with Audrey Pearl (James MacDonald) finishing third.

Trained by Ron Parsons for owner/breeder Bob Key, Sweetie Hearts now increased her bankroll to $19,300. The bay paid $4.50 to win as the 6/5 favourite.

One race later, the first division for filly pacers took place with 2/5 favourite Witch Dali prevailing by nine lengths.

The same tactics were used as Sweetie Hearts in Race 1 as Witch Dali settled in third before the first quarter in :27.1.

Driver Jack Moiseyev then angled his charge out of third and Witch Dali marched to the front and laid down middle-half fractions of :56.4 and 1:26 before cruising to a 1:56.1 romp. Exhilarated (Sylvain Filion) finished second Zenobia Blue Chip (Scott Zeron) third.

Trained and co-owned by Tony Alagna along with Aaron Waxman and Gaetan Hebert, Witch Dali increased her bankroll to $34,320 as she celebrated her third career tally. She paid $2.90 to win.

In the other split, Stelllllla and Scott Zeron got under the wire first in 1:56.2.

The daughter of Mister Big cleared to the lead past the opening quarter in :27.4 and never looked back as he went past the middle-half in :57.3 and 1:27, before scoring the narrow win over Brescia Seelster (Mario Baillargeon). Artful Impulse (Randy Waples) finished third.

Trained by David Menary and owned/bred by Daryl Sherman, Stellllla now has $34,282 in career earnings as she celebrated her third career victory. She paid $4.40 to win as the favourite.
