Two $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 3-Year-Old Male Paces complete 1st leg preliminaries on Thursday, March 31 at Dover Downs. Harness racing post time is 4:30 p m.
John's Dream, winner of last November's DSBF $100,000 Two-Year-Old Final, drew the rail and will be driven by Tim Tetrick from the rail in the first $20,000 prelim. Chuck Perry is owner-trainer of the ridgling that completed his two-year-old season with five consecutive wins. Pam Wagner's Canthelpbutwin and Allan Davis starts alongside. Next Success, owned by Henry Faragalli III, Bay Pond and Nanticoke Racing with Jim Morand raced well in his last start in an overnight event and held on to finish third. The other starters in the first prelim are Shawn Hanley's homebred Richie The Flanka with Ross Wolfenden and Lee Louthan's Spinstigator and Allan Davis, from outside post 6.
In the second $20,000 DSBF Male Pace, Carter Racing Stable's Rusty Carter (Corey Callahan), the $100,000 champion at Harrington, makes his first start of the year after two qualifying races. Winbak Farm's All Artist (Jeff Fout) will be tough from post 1. Dorothy and Chris Conner's Hail To The Master (Art Stafford Jr.) won five-times last season and should be a major factor. The rest of the field is made up by Willard Hall and Brian Wright's Sizz Matty (Tetrick) and Serendipity Stable's Door Prize (Sean Bier).
On the regular program Brenda Teague's Trayvon (Montrell Teague) is the lone starter with a win last time out in a nine-horse field in the $11,300 3,4&5-Year-Old Delaware Male pace. Bob Shahan's Rockn Race (Dennis), Willard Reynolds' Cool Reward and Ruben Lourenco's Looms The Danger (Ross Wolfenden) head the opposition.
