QUALITY four-year-old mare Delightful Christian made a welcome return to racing in Tasmania with a brilliant win in the $20,000 SEW Eurodrive George Johnson for fillies and mares.
Delightful Christian was allowed to drift back to last from her outside front-row draw (7) and she remained at the tail of the field until Rattray decided to made his more in the back straight the last time.
Rank outsider Arts Bliss led to the home turn but it was obvious a long way out that Delightful Christian had the leaders covered.
The Barry Rattray-trained mare unleashed a powerful finish to overhaul the leaders close to home and scored comfortably from Arts Bliss with the well-backed Laterron a close-up third.
