Talented young Tasmanian reinsmanhas been making a name for himself in Victoria this past year but he was back in the action in his home state on Sunday night driving a double for Brighton trainer Matthew Dwyer.
Ashwood copped a four-week suspension in Victoria late last month so he was keen to get back onto action last night and he made the most of this first two drives.
He partnered Hermione to victory in a C5-7 pace over 2090 metres and he then guided Dwyer's highly promising four-year-old The Majority to an impressive win in a C1 over the same distance.
Ashwood was content to allow The Majority to race beyond midfield but when the pace slackened he sent the Art major gelding around the field to face the breeze.
The Majority forged to the lead at the top of the home straight and went on to score comfortably from race leader Budding Artist with Calamity Katie a distant third.
