WESTBURY based harness racing trainer-driver Lindsay Tatnell almost heaved a sigh of relief after his well-bred four-year-old Laconic Jamane scored an impressive first-up win at Devonport last Sunday night.

Laconic Jamane (Live Or Die-Laconic) made the most of the pole position to lead and despite being challenged strongly by some inform opponents the flashy chestnut gelding dug deep at the business end of proceedings to score comfortably from Miley Rose and Bertils Delight.

It was Laconic Jamane's first start since early December last year when he finished near last in a C0 in Hobart.

The gelding's early form was outstanding winning three of his previous eight starts and he also was placed four times.
