Tempete d’Hermes wins at Vincennes

Tempete d'Hermes (7f Fleuron Perrine-Nemesis Fortiniere-Vikings Way) took today's Prix de L'Aveyron (65,000 euro purse, 2850 meters distance handicap, 17 starters) timed in 1.14.6kr for reinsman Anthony Barrier. Trained by J.P. Marmion the winner scored at 5/2 odds for her 11th career win with now lifetime earnings of 143,900 euro. Trinity Jiel (7f Goetmals Wood-Flayade Jiel-Ourasi) was second for Jos. Verbeeck and she handled a 25 meter handicap effectively. Taormina d'Em (7f Cedre du Vivier-Nevadara d'Em-Coktail Jet) ended third for Tony LeBeller. The Q+ jackpot this day was 1.6 million euro.

The Prix d'Aubervilliers (38,000 euro purse, 2200 meters, 8 starters) for three year-old fillies went to even money favorite Balzane de Bootz (3f Nem-Queza de Bootz-Groom de Bootz) in 1.17.5kr with trainer/driver J-M Bazire up. Bazire is back to work following a stress related health ailment a week ago. Brave Story (3f Repeat Love-Heaven d'Hilly-Buveteir d'Aunou) was second for owner/driver Jean-Pierre Dubois and conditioner Patrick Chevrier at 6/1 odds. Brindille Mika (3f Nahar de Beval-Noblessmika-Abercrombie) was third for Sylvain Roger.

Sunday the Prix de Belgique takes center stage at Paris-Vincennes, the fourth "B" leading to the Prix d'Amerique. Ready Cash, Timoko and Maharajah are not entered but 30 contestants were preliminarily engaged for the UET Masters Series event, Gr. II worth 120,000 purse over 2850 meters, as shown below with career earnings in euros:

Some of these are double engaged in the Prix Tenor de Baune on the card. This is a Gr. II UET Masters Series contest over 2700 meters for a purse of 120,000 euro. The outstanding card also includes the Prix Djerid for European monte performers, a Gr. III contest over 2200 meters carrying a purse of 110,000 euro and the Prix Gelinotte for three year-old fillies, a Gr. II 2700 meter event for 120,000 euro. Be My Girl, Bille de Montfort, Bassana de Marlau and Barbalala are among those engaged.
