Harness racing three year old Terror To Love capitilised on a perfect trip in the trail to dispatch a tidy bunch of seasoned professionals at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting held at Addington Raceway tonight (Thursday February 17)).

Trained at West Melton by Graham and Paul Court the son of Western Terror showed a good turn of speed from the trailing position to sprint past the leader Mach Banner in the straight. The three year old had a neck to spare over a game Captain Peacock who was parked throughout and held second a nose ahead of the fast finishing Alchemy (third).

Terror To Love has been warmly supported by punters on the fixed odds market for next month's Northern Derby dropping the colt in from $6.00 to $4.50 to win the Group One event.

Leading reinsman Craig Thornley tonight faced up to charges which were laid after the running of the Ashburton Magic Mile on February 12.

Following the running of this event Thornley (FRANCO JAMAR) was charged with a breach of Rule 869(3)(c) for driving recklessly or in the alternative Rule 869(4) for driving in a manner causing or likely to cause interference when crossing RAGLAN (A M Butt) when not sufficiently clear causing RAGLAN to be restrained and strike pylons racing into the first bend. Thornley was found guilty on all charges relating to Rule 869(3) but not guilty on the following charge relating to Rule 869(4).

Charges will be laid in accordance with JCA guidelines with a decision adjourned until tomorrow according to Stipendiary Steward Shane Renault. "A decision will be made before the first race at Banks Peninsula tomorrow, the charge itself carried a minimum $750 fine and or three weeks suspension from driving," Renault said.
