On Tuesday (April 8), quality 4-Year-Old D M Dilinger/Andrels Love gelding The Gunstar resumed with a victory in the Wise Choice Catering Pace for C5 & C6 class over 2105 metres at Cranbourne.

First-up since August last year, The Gunstar trained at Lara (Geelong) by Dean Braun and driven by Daryl Douglas, was given a cosy passage on the back of the leader Amoungst Royalty after leading out from the pole and travelled comfortably throughout.

When Greg Sugars aboard the well supported Veranjee went for home on turning, Douglas immediately moved away from behind the leader to give chase and The Gunstar's class told over the concluding stages as he gained the upper hand in the shadows of the post to score in a 2-00.9 rate over Veranjee, with Amoungst Royalty third.
