The Love You juggernaut continues…in New Zealand and Australia!
Love You produced the quinella pair, Wanna Play With Me and Outamyway in the Group 2 $50,600 Haras Des Trotteurs Sires Stakes Championship for three-year-old trotters at Addington, Christchurch on Friday (October 16).
The third placegetter, Bitamuscle, is out of a mare by Love You.
Despite sitting parked throughout, Wanna Play With Me lowered the NZ record for 1980 metres by a full second, winning by 3-1/2 lengths in a 1:58.8 rate.
She has won four with a placing in seven starts for $46,021 in stakes.
Another son of Love You, the Swedish-bred Dreamcatcher, made a triumphant return to the racetrack at Bendigo after a four-year lay-off to win impressively at his second start.
Leading from the outset, the seven-year-old entire, who is out of an American-bred daughter of Andover Hall, zipped over the last 800 metres in 59 seconds to win by 8.6 metres.
Dreamcatcher, who served a few mares in between racing campaigns, is slated to stand his first commercial season at Haras Des Trotteurs in 2021.
Meanwhile, Brandlo Prince, the richest ‘down under’ bred son of Orlando Vici, maintained his devastating form when he outstayed a top field at Melton in a career-best 1:58.9 over 2240 metres
It was the four-year-old’s 10th lifetime success and lifted his bankroll to $80,320.
Orlando Vici has sired 12 winners from 14 Australian-bred starters from 19 foals.
