Washington, PA — The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association is teaming up with Washington Health Systems to fight back against breast cancer on October 22, 2016.
The “Pink Out” event will benefit the local breast cancer center that treats women daily in their fight against breast cancer. With a post time of 1 PM, the race card will feature a race dedicated to the Washington Health Systems as well as a non-wagering mini horse event. Meadows outrider, Missy Rothfuss, usually saves lives on the track but has decided to help save lives in a different way. 10 mini horses will be decked out in their pink for a great race and great cause.
With the Meadows surrounded by several professionals and loved ones affected by breast cancer, it is a cause close to the heart. October is breast cancer awareness month and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association always dedicates a Saturday race-day to the cause.
“We have done this for several years,” says Heather Wilder,” but our second year for Washington Health Systems and it is great to help those fighting against breast cancer in their women’s center right down the road.”
The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association will also be raffling off a pink harness donated by Silverstone Decorative Concrete. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on race day, with all proceeds going to Washington Health Systems.
“We would like to thank all participants and silverstone concrete for the donation of the harness”, says Kim Hankins.
