Bayswater part-owner and harness racing trainer Danielle Lewis would have received a thrill of a lifetime, when 4-Y-0 Artesian/Readymade Lombo gelding Inclinator trained at Coldstream in the Yarra Valley presented her with her first winner, taking out the Decron Horse Care Pace for C0 class at Cranbourne on Sunday February 12.

Driven by close friend Simone Walker, Inclinator from the pole was given the run of the race trailing the pacemaker Loose Wire (gate four), travelling smoothly throughout the 2080 metre journey.

Making full use of the sprint lane, Inclinator raced on lease from Maree Caldow ran home strongly to gain the day 1.7 metres in advance of Loose Wire and the consistent Ringtripleowe (four wide home turn from mid-field) in a rate of 2-02.

A former student of the Gippsland Harness Training Centre, Danni is presently doing a part-time course at Box Hill Tafe in-between working for Cranbourne veterinary surgeon Hugh Cathels.

No stranger to harness racing having been involved for a 10 year period, Danni has gained valuable experience over the years working for Tony Herlihy, Michelle Wallis and Nicky Chilcott in New Zealand’s North Island.
