At Bergsaker on July 16 Trading (3f Deweycheatumnhowe-Hostage-Express Ride) took the Norrlands Elit Final over 2140 meters autostart. The winner earned 200,000SEK for the 1.13.1kr win in this three year-old event with Orjan Kihlstrom up for trainer Svante Bath. She has a 4-1-1 slate in eight career starts. Hostage is the dam of Quid Pro Quo, a Yankee Glide winner of over US$810,000. The Norrlands Grand Prix Final for four year-olds (2140 meters autostart, 250,000SEK first prize) went to Daley Lovin (4m Conway Hall-Dreamsmadeofthis-Dream Vacation) in 1.11.6kr for Daniel Reden and Stall Zet. He scored by five lengths and now sports a 10-4-7 slate in 35 career outings. Another US import, Scacco Matto, finished eighth in this race.
The same day at Karlshamn, a 1680 meters autostart event, worth 22,000SEK to the winner, went to Celebrity Hall (6g Tom Ridge-Canne Angus-Magna Force) with Peter Ingves driving.
