Bathurst harness racing trainer Bernie Hewitt will attempt to win Saturday night’s Victoria Oaks with talented filly Read About Lexy. Five of the last nine winners of the race have been trained in New South Wales and Hewitt is full of praise for his pint sized three year old.
Inside My Stable with Bernie Hewitt is Trots TV’s special feature this week and Hewitt talks about the decision he made to leave the family property at Crookwell. Hewitt and his family settled in the Bathurst region and haven’t looked back since. Bernie also describes in detail the attempted abduction of Smooth Satin and his role in chasing the perpetrators. On Saturday night Beautide became the latest Australian trained pacer to win $2 million in prize money when he returned to the racetrack for the first time since winning the Inter Dominion.
