Quinte+ events dominated the week’s activity in France. Today’s  Q+ at Cabourg was the Prix du Journal GENY Courses (Paul Viel) for €38,000 over 2850 meters.

A total of 16 contestants took part with the win secured by Soleil du Verger (8g Gogo-Fabiola du Verger-Marco Bonheur) steered by owner/trainer Philippe Daugaerd. Timed in 1.15.3kr the winner, off at 4.2/1, won for the ninth time in a career that nopw shows earnings of €201,510. Tic Tac du Monte was second for Anthony Barrier. The Q+ jackpot this day was €5,150,000 and the exact order payout without the jackpot was €13,910. A great enthusiastic throng was on hand.

Quinte+ action (jackpot €5,050,000) moved to Enghien on July 9 with the Prix de l’Opera for a purse of €58,000, contested by 16 European entrants over 2150 meters autostart. Tabriz du Gite (7m Ganymede-Kanrizia du Gite) scored at 5.3/1 in 1.13.5kr for teamster Pierre Vercruysse. 

The winner recorded his eighth career win for life earnings of €262,680. The Q+ race created a win-place only handle of €900,000. Conrad’s Fredrik from Sweden, handled by Jarma Niskanen, ended second with Tzarine Fac third for David Thomain.

Quinte+ action (jackpot €5,000,000) moved to Les Sables d’Olonne this day for the €35,000 Prix Jean Houssaint that drew 15 European starters. They battled over 2775 meters with the win going to Urfee Jallerie (6f Neutron du Cebe-Nana du Domaine-Caballio In Blue) handled by Damien Bonne for owner Elevage Peo.

Urfee Jallerie recorded her 20th career win now for earnings of €307,660. Trophee de Jaba was second for J-M Bazire and Italy’s Nefertite Del Rio finished third for Alexandre Abrivard.

During this week several announcements of interest took place. Tony Le Beller will replace Franck Nivard as the FR representative in the European Drivers Championship to be held August 18-19 at Solanget and Umea. The upcoming Hugo Abergs Memorial will have Commander Crowe at the start replacing Napoleon Bar due to the latter’s drug test positives.
