CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The top class dominance continued for Rose Run Quest in the preferred harness racing pace Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Marc Campbell supplied the winning steer in the $2,800 preferred pace as he got away fifth with his charge and moved second over behind Burn Out Hanover (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) past the quarter. Burn Out Hanover briefly took control of the lead past three-quarters of 1:26.2 then Rose Run Quest struck the front and powered forward to win by three-and-three-quarter lengths in 1:55.
Burn Out Hanover was second with Rockin Indy (David Dowling) finishing third. Blair Hansen of Charlottetown holds the ownership papers of Rose Run Quest, who was celebrating his third straight preferred victory.
The $2,700 Best Risque Memorial Open Mares Pace saw The Time To Win score her first win on red soil while taking a pocket-ride to win in 1:56.4 for driver Barrieau, trainer Jackie Matheson and owner Woodmere Farms of Marshfield. Dreas Good Powow (Ken Murphy) finished second with Jordies Hope (Jason Hughes) completing the $134.10 triactor.
