So Long My Love paced across the wire ahead of her foes in the $11,000 Fillies and Mares Open on Thursday (May 29) in Northfield Park's second race. She is owned and trained by Scott Cox of Streetsboro, Ohio. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. was in the bike for the winning drive.

So Long My Love (American Ideal-Letmedowneasy-Camluck) started from post seven. She was fifth through the blistering :26.3 opening panel. Wrenn moved So Long My Love in the second turn and she remained first over for the remainder of the mile, through fractions of :55, 1:24 and 1:54.1. She was a neck in front of the competition at the finish.

Completing the race were So Long My Love, Power Everywhere, Eradikate, Ashtoreth Hanover and Common Creed. Riverdancer was scratched.

Thursday's win was the seventh victory this year and 11th career score for So Long My Love. It boosted her lifetime earnings to $68,253. She returned $8.60 to win.
