November 19, 2016 – Saturday’s Menesek DIJ (purse 2,000,000Huf, 3160 meters distance handicap) went to 40 meter handicapped Time To Say Goodbye (4m Maximus Lindy-Jungfrau-Valley Guardian) for harness racing trainer/driver Lajos Marton and owner AMMA. Timed in 1.19.7kr over the extended distance (1.99 miles), the winner surged in the final strides to best 60 meter penalized Speedy Boy (5g Wall Street Banker-Vas Lady-Endless Sands) and trainer/driver Veljko Mazsity. Another 40 meter penalized player, Titan Ville (4g Noir Desir-Izaville-Endless Sands), landed third for Imre Fazekas.
The winner’s sire Maximus Lindy is a 2003 son of Conway Hall-Athenas Lucky Girl-Tagliabue that was a US$100,000 yearling at Tattersalls and stakes placed at age two. The dam also produced Gladiator Lindy 1 :55.4.
On the fine program was also the API DIJ (purse 600,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart), and 3/10 favorite Spartakus Ans prevailed for trainer/driver Sandor Varga and Czech owner Antioch Arani SRO. The five year-old gelded son of Cantab Hall-Volgenna OK-Lemon Dra scored in 1.18.3kr to defeat Rocket Boy (5g Wall Street Banker-Elegant Lady-Mill H) with Imre Fazekas up and Royal Flesh (6m Wall Street Banker-Tameway Sweet L-Super Arnie) driven by Lajos Marton.
Two year-olds contested the Ketevesek (purse 600,000Huf, 1960 meters distance handicap) and 1/5 favorite Celsius Evo (2m Pilgrims Taj-Daniellesine) scored for trainer Lajos Marton, driver Viktoria Nemeth and owner AMMA. The winner overcame a 40 meter penalty to defeat Vital RG (2m SJ’s Photo-Vitesse OR-Indro Park) and driver Tibor Hajnal, timed in 1.23.3kr. Valentino (2m Frullino Jet-Chemise Cobra-Atlas Fighter L) was third for Sandor Varga.
The Nebulo DIJ (purse 450,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart) began the afternoon card with victory to 9/2 odds Uzorasno (3f Maximus Lindy-Hiutelezo-Witsends Speedy). Balazs Juhasz is the driver/trainer for breeder/owner Kabela Menes Kft. Under World (3m Racino-Zaba-Yankee Class) was second for Emil Csordas and third went to Titus Liviors (4m Incredible Cole-Juci-Valley Guardian) with Sandor Kolozsi at the lines.
