Timoko wins Kymi Grand Prix

Timoko, with Bjorn Goop up for trainer/owner Richard Westerink, won today’s €150,000 Gr. I UET Masters Series Kymi Grand Prix at Kuovolo Finland.

The 2014 Elitloppet winner, bred in France, overcame a second tier start and a death seat overland journey to rally by a head over very game pacesetter Commander Crowe, in rein to Robin Bakker.

Timoko scored for the 23rd time in his career and his earnings have now reached €2,664,690, for the 9/10 favorite. Commander Crowe was second choice in the wagering at 3.3/1 with 50/1 longshot, pocket sitting Up-Date Hoss a close third on the line for Ari Moilanen and trainer Stig H. Johansson. Time for the 2100 meter autostart distance was 1.13kr with dynamic final 500 meters.
