The Auckland Trotting Club Trot 2008 Syndicate has sold Tintin In America to stand at stud this season at Nevele R Stud. From a harness racing racing career spanning just three seasons (2, 3 & 4YO), Tintin In America was the winner of five Group 1 races, claiming Group 1 victories in each year of racing.

These wins included the NZ Sires Stakes 2YO Final, 3YO Harness Jewels Emerald, Australasian Breeders Crown 3YO Colts And Geldings Final, NZ Messenger Championship, and the 4YO Harness Jewels Emerald.

Rated the fastest horse in Australasia of his time, he proved to be both a sprinter and a stayer of the highest quality, setting four New Zealand records during his three seasons of racing, two of which still stand today; those being the 2YO 1950m - 2:20.5 (MR 1:55.9) and the All-comers 2700m - 3:15.8 (MR 1:56.6).

The now 6-year-old son of McArdle was crowned the NZ 4YO Pacing Entire or Gelding of the Year, as well as the North Island 2YO and 3YO Pacer of the Year, and the 2010 North Island Pacer of the Year.

On winning his second Harness Jewels, he became just the third horse to become a "Dual Jewels Winner" and remains one of only four in the history of the series to do so.

One of his most spectacular wins came in an early 4YO race at Cambridge, when off a 30m handicap, after settling at the rear of the field, he unleashed an explosive burst to win going away in one of the fastest final 200m sectionals ever witnessed at Cambridge Raceway.

In the same year he produced a stunning performance to finish a very close second to Monkey King in the Group 1 2010 Auckland Cup, adding to his other Group 1 second placings in the NZ Derby and NZ Sires Stakes 3YO Final, as well as a third placing in the Group 1 Welcome Stakes as a 2-year-old.

Tintin In America was forced into early retirement due to injury, but finished his racing career on a high note, winning his last three starts - all at Group level, recording victories in the Group 1 NZ Messenger Championship (NZ Record), the Group 3 Kumeu Stakes and the Group 1 4YO Harness Jewels Emerald ... what a way to bow out. After completing very good fertility tests, he will now embark on a stud career this season and will stand at the leading NZ Stud Farm, Nevele R Stud.

Career Record: 35 Starts - 16 Wins 7 Seconds 4 Thirds. Stake Earnings - $934,305.

Best NZ Mile Rates: 2YO - 1:55.9 3YO - 1:53.2 4YO - 1:54.1
