Eighteen Group winning or Group winner-producing harness racing mares will go up for auction at the Concorde Park Reduction Sale to be held at their Congupna property near Shepparton on Sunday, July 4, starting at 1pm.

The sale is part of a reduction of the breeding and racing stock of Australia's most successful breeder and owner Mick Lombardo.

Horses carrying the ‘Lombo' moniker have dominated the juvenile classics throughout the country over the past 20 years and Lombardo is offering prospective buyers a chance to tap into his award-winning bloodlines.

The catalogue comprises 79 lots of which there are 68 broodmares and 11 weanlings.

The broodmare section is dotted with stud book gems headed up by three Australian 3YO Filly of the Year award winners in Concorde Lombo, Lombo Rapida and Misty Maiden (dam of Lombo Pocket Watch).

Decethree Lombo, who is the dam of Australia's first 1:50 pacer Lombo Skyrider, Lombo La Paree, the mother of Australian 2YO Pacer of the Year Lombo La Fe Fe, along with daughters of Broodmare of the Year Celevale Trunkey and 2YO of the Year Mazzini Magic are also listed for sale.

Other classic-winning mares in the catalogue are Boa Vista Lombo (Bathurst Gold Tiara), Nevabend Lombo (WA Oaks), Lombo Regalia (SA Oaks), Lady Titian Lombo (Vic. Tatlow), Boschetti Lombo (Karamea Farm Classic) and Lombo Quest (WA Sales Classic).

They all carry positive tests to world class stallions such as Grinfromeartoear, Village Jasper, Stonebridge Regal, Modern Art, Four Starzzz Shark, Artistic Fella, Blissfull Hall, Ponder, Dream Away, Jet Laag and Kenneth J.

There's daughters of many of Australia's leading broodmares in recent times including Classic Garry (9), Troublemaker (9), Safely Kept (3), Fake Left (2), Windshield Wiper (2), Panorama and Soky's Atom.

Among the weanlings are progeny of Lombo Pocket Watch, Western Australia's leading first-season sire Northern Luck, Lombo Mandingo and the recently deceased Saab.
