Dirt Track Momma will look to deliver off the rail in the Thursday night harness racing feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at The Charlottetown Driving Park.

The five-year-old daughter of E Dees Cam survived a tough first over journey in last week’s edition of the $2,200 Mares Open before falling short by less than a length in 1:57 to Doober Hoozzitz. Marc Campbell will drive Dirt Track Momma Thursday in the race 12 Open Mares event for trainer Neal Moase and owner Jonah Moase.

First race post time is 7 pm for the 12 race card. Race analyst Les MacIsaac favours Bunny Mach to win the affair for driver Jason Hughes, trainer Nick MacGillivray, and owner Brian Foley from post 4.

“She finished second in her first start here, her eighth top three finish from nine starts this year,” MacIsaac said of Bunny Mach. “When you consider she hadn't raced in three months and with her now back on the seven day rotation, we'll give her a slight edge.”

Other entries include Ovation Killean (Vaughn Doyle), General Luckypercy (Brodie MacPhee), Doober Hoozzitz (Terry Gallant), Donna Conda (Mike McGuigan), JK Special (Walter Cheverie), and Private Joke (Gary Chappell).

The co-feature lines up in race 7 with MacIsaac giving the edge to Arabica and driver Mike Stevenson from post 4 in the $1,550 event.

“This is his third start off the bench and he gets a heaping helping of class relief after a reasonably solid outing in his latest. His best effort could make this a race for place.”

Other favourites include Ebandtheboys (Cheverie) and Likely To Win (Campbell).

The evening trot class goes postward in 5, with top entries including Anita Blossom (Brian MacPhee), JK Queen (Cheverie) and Scarlet Patti (Darryl MacLean).

Also on the card, Dianna Santanna will look to keep her undefeated streak alive from post 6 in race 9. The three-year-old Santanna Blue Chip filly has had four wins in as many starts in 2013, and has been installed as the morning line favorite for driver Brodie MacPhee, trainer Tom Weatherbie and owner Doug MacPhee of Cornwall.
