Art Major, Grinfromeartoear, McArdle and Courage Under Fire, a quartet of the most popular harness racing sires in Australia and New Zealand today, all have representation at the forthcoming Melbourne Premier Yearling and Broodmare Sale.

Comprising 90 lots, the sale will be conducted by Davidson Cameron Board & Simmons at Oaklands Junction on Sunday, March 13, starting at 11am. A yearling parade with a champagne lunch is set down for the Saturday at 12 noon.

Art Major, who is dominating the age classics throughout the country, has three entries in the sale including a colt out of a half-sister to the dam of the Derby winner Jagged Knight.

Grinfromeartoear, the sire of the mighty Mr Feelgood, has a single nomination in a half-sister to Run Riley Run 1:55.7 and Clock Winder (15 wins).

Courage Under Fire’s three-strong entry is spearheaded by a filly from a half-sister to the same of the triple Derby champion The Sentry.

The McArdle filly, Lot 27 in the catalogue, promises to be one of the most sought after lots. She is out of the NSW Pink Bonnet winner Kirlian, the dam of four ‘black type’ winners including A Flyin Dash 1:51.8 and WA Cup placegetter Sandy Bay.

Life Sign, the sire of the winners of over $100million, and leading WA first-season sire Northern Luck have the largest entry with six youngsters each.

Other highly credentialled stallions represented at the catalogue are Badlands Hanover, Village Jasper, Live Or Die, Modern Art, Four Starzzz Shark, Armbro Operative and Safely Kept.

The world champion American Ideal, Sutter Hanover, Lombo Pocket Watch and trotter Bacardi Lindy will all be represented by their first Australian crop.
