The He’s Watching gelding Hes Sweet firmly established himself as one of Queenland’s leading two-year-olds when he won the Group 1 $104,200 Albion Park Gold Final on Saturday night (August 15).
The Albion Park Gold was also a notable score for the second season sire He’s Watching as both Hes Sweet and the third placegetter Chamonix were sired by the American Ideal horse, who has had the amazing score of having sired 24 individual harness racing winners from 49 starters from his first two crops.
Furthermore, of 57 foals from his first crop, 32 have raced and 18 are winners and three have been placed. This represents a 31 percent winners-to-foals ratio and a 56 percent winners-to-starters record.
The three-year-old filly Blockjorg, one of his initial crop, has won twice at Group level in Western Australia and was a very impressive winner at Gloucester Park in 1:56.6 last weekend.
In North America, He’s Watching’s progeny includes the standout three-year-old colt Tattoo Artist (1:48.4), Canada’s fastest horse this year and one of the leading contenders for the forthcoming $1 million North America Cup.
He’s Watching (1:46.8), a dual world champion, is now standing at Luke Primmer’s Tipperary Equine, Young (NSW) where he has attracted widespread interest from broodmare owners.
