WASHINGTON, PA, July 9, 2019 — Touchamatic outdueled Camera Lady for the early lead and rolled home without a serious harness racing challenge in a sharp 1:50.2 in Tuesday's $20,000 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Touchamatic easily thwarted the first-over challenge of Baron Remy and defeated Camera Lady by 2 lengths, with Keystone Riptide a ground-saving third. Aaron Merriman piloted the 5-year-old daughter of American Ideal-Perfect Touch, who won for the 11th time this season and extended her career bankroll to $317,822, for trainer Bill Bercury and owner Renee Bercury.
It was one of five victories for Merriman on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday, when the program features a $1,989.60 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 PM.
