Champion harness racing driver Dexter Dunn will head to the Harness Jewels at Cambridge on Saturday in a rich vein of form.

The masterful Canterbury reinsman started his rampage at Forbury Park on Thursday, where he steered home six winners on the nine race card. He then jetted off to Auckland on Friday to steer Katy Perry to success in the $150,000 Sales Series Final, before capping things off with a treble at Addington yesterday.

But, what is even more incredible than his 10 wins over the weekend, is that fact that from 16 drives he also notched up a further 6 placings, meaning that he was in the money in every race he drove at during the weekend.

For you mathematical buffers, if you had of placed a dollar each-way on all of Dunns 16 drives you would have made a grand total of $20.70.

Dunn has six drives at Cambridge on Jewels Day and says four of them have “winning chances.”

Those four are Art Union, Franco Nelson, Sheemon, and Katy Perry.

“I think Art Union will be able to hold the lead or at worst trail Chachingchaching, and from there I think he has a good winning chance,” advised Dunn.

“Last week he flopped out from one, but I was caught napping a bit, and the gate will be going quicker at Cambridge on Saturday so we should be able to punch through,” he added.

Dunn said that Katy Perry would only have to replicate her run on Friday night to be a chance again, while he thinks Franco Nelson and Sheemon will be very competitive despite their second row draws.

“Sheemon is as lovely trotter who is as honest as the day as long. I think he has a good chance, especially if they burn early.”

“And Franco Nelson is racing super and ,apart from Elios, it doesn’t look a vintage field, so he would have to be a great hope,” he concluded.
