It was a cold and wet night of harness racing at Hanover Raceway Saturday night (September 22) for RONA night at the races. Trevor Henry was the big winner on the night winning three in a row, and a total of 4 on the card.

The winning started for the Arthur native in race 7 with Mach it Paid for owner Isaac Waxman of Ancaster in 157.3. Henry returned to the winners circle in Race 8 with Zorgwijk Kentaro for owner Rick Wade of Woodstock in 2:04.1.

The hat-trick was completed in Race 9 when Henry drove Twin B Miracle to victory in 1:59.2 for owners Isaac and Aaron Waxman and Yin Yee Wong of Oakville. Henry completed the 4 bagger in the 12th and final race when he drove Sauble Jackson to his 51st lifetime victory in 2:00.3.

Henry wasn’t the only person with a hat-trick on the Night. Isaac Waxman had 3 horses on the card and also won with The Machster in Race 2 in 1:58.4. Waxman drove his own horse to victory in that race.

The other big winner on the night was Red Macdonald of Teeswater who won the year end Grand Prize from Hanover Rona. Macdonald won a 2500 dollar home renovation gift certificate.

There are just 2 more live race cards left in the Hanover Season. Racing returns Saturday September 29th, and Saturday October 6th. Both race cards have special 1:00 pm post times.
