Triumphant Caviar sets Indy track mark

Triumphant Caviar set a track record for older horse trotters with his 1:53.1 win in the $100,000 Pride In Progress final on a stakes-filled Saturday (Sept. 25) harness racing card at Indiana Downs.

Luc Ouellette drove the 4-year-old SJ's Caviar horse for trainer Chris Beaver and co-owners Kerry Beaver, James Gallagher and Ouellette.

Powerful Speed and driver Josh Sutton made a three-wide move to win the $200,000 Oliver Trotting Classic by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:55.4 over Pretty Boy Lindy and Kash's Caviar. Il Villaggio made a break and finished eighth in his 2010 debut.

Powerful Speed is trained by co-owner Thomas Graham Jr., who shares ownership of the Powerful Emotion gelding with Jerry and J Graham.

So Perfect won the $190,000 Kentuckiana Stallion Management for 2-year-old filly pacers in 1:56.2 over a 12-horse field.

Dave Palone drove the Western Ideal-Sounds Perfect filly for trainer Jimmy Takter and owner-breeder Brittany Farms. Foxy Lady finished second with Mystical Mj third.

Two $35,000 divisions of the Circle City were raced for 3-year-old male pacers, with Power Of A Moment (1:53.4) and Iam Bonasera (1:52.1) coming up winners.

In the two $75,000 divisions of the Elevation for 2-year-old male pacers, Mystic Desire (1:53.2, Real Desire-Cannes Festival) and Playin For Keeps (1:55.2, Cole Muffler-Panfastic) were winners.
