TROIS-RIVIERES, QC – The trotters take center stage at the Hippodrome 3R Sunday afternoon with four return winners in the eighth race feature.
Yet, the 5/2 morning line favorite is not a return winner. That honoree is Commissioner Daley, who starts from post five for co-owner, trainer and driver Guy Gagnon.
Returning to H3R from Rideau Carlton, Commissioner Daley is having a superb season. The six-year-old gelded son of Conway Hall already sports seven wins, the fastest a 1:57 triumph at Rideau. Two starts back he was able to lead from start to finish in 1:58.2.
His main competition will come from Jamigo in post three for driver Danuel LaFlamme. Returning from a long stint in the USA, Jamigo was on a roll at H3R winning three of four starts before leaving Quebec for owner/trainer Manon Lamothe of Terrebonne. In his last start in the USA, Jamigo was able to post a nose victory in 1:57.2, his fastest winning time this year.
Four Starz Speed is always a major threat whenever he races. The "old man" of the field at age 12, still can show his heels to his younger rivals. Hailing from the Maguire Stable, Four Starz Speed starts from post four with Kevin Maguire driving. Last week he was second in the Invitational and three starts back he was a winner in 1:59.
Both Tuscans Memory (post six) and KFB Amigo Cool (post eight) are return winners moving up in class to take on the best trotters at H3R.
Rounding out the nine-horse field are Artemis Duharas (post one), K Rkadbra (post two), Dance Hall George (post seven) and Federal Strike (post nine).
First race post time Sunday at 12:30 pm. For a free race program, visit www.quebecjockeyclub.com.
