Echuca's Peter Lindberg was victorious with promising 4-Y-0 Yankee Paco/Reba Supreme mare Star Style at the harness racing meeting at Bendigo on Wednesday, taking out the Aldebaran Park Trotters Handicap for T0 & T1 class over 2150 metres, her first success in 15 outings.

Raced by the Lindberg family – Peter, Phyllis and Steven, Star Style was given a lovely trip by Steven three back in the moving line after stepping safely from barrier four, with the leader and favourite Duchess Pat having no peace for the majority of the race.

Joining in three wide on the final bend, Star Style scored by 2.9 metres in a rate of 2-07.6 over a game Duchess Pat, with Frosty Vale using the sprint lane for third after trailing the runner up.

Gillieston trainer Russ Thomson has 5-Y-0 Yankee Paco/Makati Avenue gelding Yankee Avenue on top of his game at present, taking the $5,000 Staffordshire Park Trotters Final for T0 & T1 class over 2150 metres which qualified in the heats held at Bendigo on November 26.

Bred and raced by Cobram’s Don Rudd, Yankee Avenue driven by Daryl Douglas began swiftly from gate three on the second row to lob one/one, before taking over when the leader and favourite Like It Chilled went off stride in the back straight on the first occasion.

Trotting to perfection, Yankee Avenue held too many guns at the finish for the roughie Camp Fire Glow (one/two – three wide trail home turn) and Devils Rayne (one/one) in a rate of 2-03.3.

Rochester’s Mark Thompson joined forces with concessional reinsperson Ellen Tormey to capture the Warehouse Sales Pace for C0 class (mares) over 1650 metres with Woke Up Tired, a 4-Y-0 daughter of McArdle and All But.

Given the run of the race from the pole trailing the first starter Policious next door, Woke Up Tired used the sprint lane to perfection, sailing away to win in a breeze from the hot favourite Our Molly Finn first up since February which raced in the open, with Turnover (three back the markers) running on late for third. The mile rate 1-58.9.

Ararat based Daryl Crone who makes use of Peter Manning’s training track at Great Western, was successful with 6-Y-0 Peace Of Art/Rumbleon mare Peaces Of Art in the Bendigo Bank Pace for C2 & C3 class over 2150 metres.

Driven by Bendigonian Neil McCallum, Peaces Of You which had been racing in great heart recently possied five back in the moving line from gate three on the second line, before trailing up Cyclades ahead of her three wide at the bell.

When Dynamite Dude hit the front on the home turn after racing in the open, Peaces Of You was in hot pursuit and finished best to record a 2.5 metre victory in 2-01.5 over him and the favourite Madam Pom Pom which followed the winner home, dying on her run over the concluding stages.

Junortoun trainer Bruce Morgan landed the Petstock Pace for C1 class over 2150 metres with much travelled Kiwi bred 5-Y-0 Washington Vc/Ararua Alley mare Easton All Action in a rate of 2-01.4.

Driven by Chris Alford, Easton All Action settled mid-field from gate four, moving three wide solo in the last lap.

Running home strongly, Easton All Action scored by 2.9 metres in advance of Amazing Kano off a three wide double trail in the final circuit, with Flyin Indi Air third after following the winner home.

Toolern Vale horseman John Justice snared the Yorkshire Park Pacers Handicap for C4 or better class over 2150 metres with smart Kiwi bred Falcon Seelster/Touche Franco gelding Tyler Bromac.

Stepping safely from barrier three, Tyler Bromac settled one/one, being relegated a further spot when Kerryn Manning sent Dual Agent Tabman forward off his back to park outside the pacemaker Flash Of Freedom entering the straight on the first occasion.

Moving forward three wide in the last lap, Tyler Bromac joined Dual Agent Tabman on turning and the pair raced away to fight out the finish, with Tyler Bromac prevailing by a half head in 2-03.6. Wattabout A Smile used the sprint lane for third after following Flash Of Freedom.
