Buyers looking to take advantage of the increased opportunities for young trotting stock will find a couple of gems at the Mixed Standardbred Online Auction, to be conducted by Darren Ebert & Co from July 17 to 19.
The offering includes two weanling colts by the world champion square-gaiter Sebastian K Tr 1:49 ($2.9 million), one out of the American-bred Jessie Bessie and the other from the Love You mare Feona Joy NZ. A weanling filly from the first crop of the former top American juvenile Centurion ATM Tr 1:53.4 ($731,374) from Lucky Love NZ (by Love You) will also go up for auction.
There’s a wide selection of pacers for sale as well including racehorses, young untried stock, yearlings, weanlings and broodmares.
The list of going stock is headed up by last year’s QBred Breeders Classic 2YO Final winner Amaya Becomes, the Albion Park winners Uncle Shank, Feel The Reign and Captain Thunderbolt NZ, today’s Redcliffe winner Melton Max Gentle, and Doolittle Di, a younger sister to Queensland’s champion three-year-old Governor Jujon.
Other two and three-year-olds are by highly promising young sires such as Boom Boom Hall, Quality Cam and Melton Gunna.
The broodmare contingent includes the Presidential Ball mare Presidential Night, the dam of three in 2:00 including Uncle Shank and Hedges Avenue, the Ultimate Falcon mare Flirt Takes Flight, a half-sister to six winners, and the successful Chiola Hanover mare Hiona Mountain NZ, who is carrying a positive test to Sebastian K.
Bidding will open on Friday, July 17 at 10am and close on Sunday, July 19 at 4pm.
