Last season's Great Northern Oaks winner Twist And Twirl will be the headline act at the Amberley Trotting Clubs annual harness racing meeting at Rangiora (Wednesday February 6) .

The impeccably bred 4yo Artsplace mare resumes in the $18,000 Amberley Cup, after a five and a half month lay-off, having not raced since narrowly going down behind Cheer The Lady in the Australasian 3YO Fillies Breeders Crown Final.

Trainer Mark Purdon has already stated that this season will be a light one for the earner of $293,833, after what was a hectic 3yo season.

After all, anyone who has had good three-year-old fillies knows how hard it is for them to come back in their 4yo season and be competitive in grade/feature mares racing.

Twist N Twirl was tidy in her recent Motukarara workout signally that she is forward enough for her Wednesday resumption. Although the talent mare should make a winning return, it is no gift race as there are some handy types going around in the Amberley feature including Democracy, Cam Before The Storm and Lively Shard.

Last season's three-year-old trotters Harness Jewels winner Cyclone U Bolt (Dream Vaction) will also resume for the All Stars barn on Wednesday. Like his stable mate, he was also very good at the Motukarara workouts on the 30th of January. Look for him to make a winning return in race ten on the card.

Purdon also lines up maidens It's Only Me and Hunter Victoria, on what should be a good day for the Blue & silver grey stars silks.

If you're keen to go along to what should be a great day of grass track racing all the details of the festivities that the Amberley Trotting Club have planned can be found here
