WILKES-BARRE PA -- Trotter or pacer, colt or filly -- it doesn't matter to all-time leading Breeders Crown trainer Jimmy Takter, as the Hall of Famer calimed the first two Breeders Crown races Saturday at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs with the win of the Well Said filly Uffizi Hanover in the $500,000 2PF Championship, a race after winning with 2TC Father Patrick.

In the 20th Breeders Crown race of 2013 at Pocono (including last week's elims), somebody was able to win off of cover, but the early pace helped. The two favorites, Allstar Rating and chalk Precocious Beauty sped a wicked 25.3 opener before the latter claimed the top. Act Now was first-over before the 55 half and battled the pacesetter to the 1:23 3/4s.

"Uffizi," sent off as the 4-1 third choice despite owning only one previous career win, was right on Act Now's back throughout, moved three-wide approaching headstretch, made the lead in midstretch, then withstood a late burst by Beach Body, who benefited from excellent Brian Sears handling to find a lane behind the winner then angle inside, by 3/4 of a length. Southwind Silence showed late speed for third, swith She's Da Bomb snd Allstar Rating collecting the last check.

Miller, who handled the Hanover-bred for the famous Ontario ownership trio of Libfeld, Katz, and Goldband, was his usual quiet self even after the big victory. The newly-elected Hall of Famer noted, "Last week she was good, but we made an adjustment, and she was even better tonight. Tonight Pierce's horse (Act Now) was able to carry us to the top of the stretch, and my filly was very good."

"This filly has been coming on more and more at the end of the season," Jimmy Takter said. "She was OK in some overnight races and then starting getting better and better. Timing is perfect on her right now!"
