Ubettimagoodone delivered as expected as the 4/5 favourite in the conditioned harness racing feature pace at Flamboro Downs on Thursday, Mar. 4.
Driver Jean Rene Plante put the four-year-old mare on the front end immediately. They went unchallenged to the quarter in 28.2 and half in 57.3 before the backfield got moving. Whatarealbadgirl (Brett Macdonald) took the first-over plunge, but Ubettimagoodone had no problem dealing with her and created a length gap at three-quarters in 1:27.2.
The leader appeared to be pulling away around the turn, but pocket-sitter Sunny Sicily (Wayne Mac Lean) didn't let her off so easy. Mac Lean urged his mare up the open passing lane, closing the gap quickly, but a lack of racetrack left her a nose short. Ubettimagoodone set a new life's mark with the 1:56 victory. Sunny Sicily earned a very game second, and Bellafornow (Mario Baillargeon) was two lengths back in third.
Ubettimagoodone took her second win of 2021 for trainer Richard Moreau and her sixth lifetime from 36 starts. Patricia McLean, Jeffrey Lilley, and Blair Maclauchlan co-own the daughter of Image Of Dawn that has now earned just more than $30,000. She paid $3.80 to win.
Flamboro will resume racing on Saturday, Mar. 6.
