June 13, 2015 - Uprince (7g Prince d’Espace-Malupricia-Capriccio) took today’s Enghien (FR) harness racing featured Prix de New York (€115,000 purse, 2150 meters autostart, 11 European starters, Gr. III) clocked in 1.12.2kr. Franck Nivard teamed the winner for trainer Thierry Raffegeau and owner J-Y Roze. Uprince now has 14 career wins for €559,470 earned. Off at 5/2 odds the winner rallied to best 5/2 Princess Grif (6f Varenne-Fauve Grif) and teamster Roberto Andreghetti for trainer Fabrice Souloy. 53/1 veteran free-for-all mare Roxana de Barbray (10f Speed Clayettois-Iriane des Enclos) was third for Gabriel Gelormini and trainer Roberto Donati. Fourth was the pacesetter Une Fille d’Amour. Tornado Bello contested the leader before making a disqualifying break in stride.

Italian bred Tuonoblu Rex (3m Cantab Hall-Eternity Rex-Lindy Lane) took the opener this day, the Prix d’Hermonville (€55,000 purse, 2875 meters, 15 European male starters), clocked in 1.15.5kr for Robin Bakker, teaming for trainer P-J-P Hagoort and owner Stable Why Not. The winner, off at 2/5 odds, recorded career victory number four now for €67,264 earned. 14/1 Charly du Noyer (3m Ready Cash-Ornella Jet) was second for trainer Philippe Allaire and reinsman Joann Lebourgeois. 12/1 Chateauroux (3m Sam Bourbon-Only Way) was third for Franck Ouvrie, driving for owner Iean-Pierre Dubois and trainer Yves Boireau. Italians’ Toseland Kyu (3m Love You-Zoraya Kyu) was fourth at 32/1 for Santo Mollo and trainer Cat Savarese, with fifth to 93/1 Tesauro (3m Flipp Roc-Inlziale) for Pietro Gubellini and trainer Christian Rizzo.

Bellinissimo (4m Baccarat du Pont-Joconde-Quadrophenio) was a front stepping winner today for trainer/driver Thomas Levesque of the Prix de la Porte de la Plaine (€46,000 purse, 2150 meters autostart, 11 starters). The winner is owned by Ecurie Pierre Levesque, also the breeder, and he scored in 1.14.4kr at 1.2/1 odds for his third career win and now €84,060 earned. 15/1 Bright Charm (4m Password-Midway Lady) was second for Pierre Vercruysse ahead of 9/1 Bari (4m Ganymede-Magicienne) for Alexandre Abrivard.

Today’s special Quinte+ (€10 million jackpot) Prix des Invalides (€52,000 purse, 2875 meters distance handicap, 18 starters) went to Sweden’s Nantucket (9m Viking Kronos-Malabar Lady-Valley Victory) for Franck Ouvrie, trainer Sofia Aronsson and owner Stall Syren. Menhammer Stuteri bred the winner. This 17/1 outside traveled an added 25 meter distance to score in 1.14.6kr for career win 15 for €241,190 earned. 24/1 Plutonio (6m Self Possessed-Indra Bi) was second for Pierre Vercruysse, this one also going an extra 25 meters, and third went to 7/2 Yankee Photo (7m SJ’s Photo-Yankee Tracer) with Franck Nivard up.

The Mike Lenders trainee, clocked in 1.13kr, won for the sixth time in his career for earnings of €125,460. 27/1 Armstrong Jet (5m Love You-Jenny Jet) was second for Gabriel Gelormini with third to 3.3/1 As du Pommeau (5g Hulk des Champs-Nacre du Pommeau) handled by Eric Raffin.
