Damien Bonne teamed Urfee Jallerie (6f Neutron du Cebe-Nana du Domaine) to victory in today’s Gr. III GNT-Paris Turf (€90.000 purse) over the marathon 3800 meter (2 3/8 miles) course at Nancy-Brabois, France.
The race, contested by 14 starters, was also the Quinte+ race of the day with a jackpot of €4.3 million. The winner overcame a 25 meter handicap to secure the victory at 3.4/1 odds timed in 1.17.5kr.
The winner is also a right-handed specialist and today was no exception as she rallied along the pegs to defeat 8.6/1 Sirene de Feugeres with Franck Nivard up with third to Sthieric and reinsman Franck Ouvrie. Favored United Back, with J-M Bazire up, was disqualified for a miscue. The exact order Q+ (without jackpot) paid €1,730 for a €2 wager.
Through nine legs of the GNT today’s winner Urfee Jallerie is the cumulative points leader with 53, ahead of Ugo du Loisir with 40. J-M Bazire leads GNY drivers with 49 points, just ahead of Damien Bonne with 48 and Franck Nivard with 47.
Saturday September 6 promises to be a special racing day at historic Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes.
Four graded events highlight the card along with two other upper level contests. Featured is the Gr. II UET Masters Series International Prix d’Ete with eight starters going for the €200,000 purse over the 2700 meter grande piste. J-P Marmion’s veteran Roi du Lupin enters this event in great form, and he’ll need to be again, against rivals Roxane Griff and Un Mec d’Heripre.
The card also includes the Gr. II monte Prix de Basly for €120,000 for three year-olds, the €85,000 Gr. III Prix Emile Wendling and the €80,000 Gr. III Prix de Montier-en-Der. It will be worth a watch as action heats up in preparation of the “winter-meet”.
