Multi-stake champion Victor’s Finesse makes her half-mile track debut on Monday night (October 10) in the first of two Violet eliminations for first season state-bred trotting fillies. The Erv Miller trainee has been dominating her division, earning the role as the heavy 4-5-morning line favourite.
Regular driver Andy Miller will guide thefilly away from the four-slot in the third race first elim in search of her season ninth victory and her third in a row. Last weekend Victor’s Finesse breezed to a four-plus length victory in Balmoral Park’s $140,000 Lady Lincoln Land championship with a 1.58.4 mile on a sloppy racing strip.
Victor’s Finesse this summer captured the $55,000 Springfield State Fair Final with a career best time of 1:55.4 and then went to DuQuoin and won the $50,000 Hayes against open-company first season trotters.
In early August Victor’s Finesse finished third, beaten 1 ¼ lengths, in the $390,000 Merrie Annabelle Final at The Meadowlands against the very best 2-Year-Old trotters in North America.
Peaceful Victory (9-2), Tomato (4-1), Fox Valley Shimmy (6-1), Cow Chip (30-1), Kenda Has Panache (6-1) and Itzaclassicgirl (30-1) are the third race challengers.
The first four finishes qualify for the $56,000 Violet Final on October 17.
Roger Welch’s Go Go Abby (Dave Magee) is the early 2-1 choice in the seventh race second Violet elimination Monday night. Anotheroffspring, she’ll meet Miss Sashi (9-2), Deanna Wind (6-1), Victors Vicky (10-1), Cherry Lane Star (7-2), Fox Valley Oneida (15-1), Giantjellybean (4-1) and Rockome Vicky (15-1).
Cherry Lane Star comes off s 2.00 triumph in the October 2 Lincoln Lady Land Consolation at Balmoral.
