It is with great sadness that we advise the passing of former President of the WATA and esteemed Life Member, Jim Snooks.
Mr Snooks passed away at 5.00 pm on Tuesday 6th August at his home following a long illness.
Elected a Member of the WATA in 1955, Jim Snooks first served on the Committee from 1977 until 1984. In 1986 he was re-elected to the Committee and appointed President in 1987 for a two-year term.
Mr Snooks was awarded Life Membership in 1984.
Gloucester Park Harness Racing extends its sincere sympathy to Jim’s wife Nena, his family and friends.
In remembrance of his contribution to the harness racing industry the drivers in Race 5 tonight at Gloucester Park will be wearing black arm bands in his honour.
