Owner/trainer/driver Thierry Duvaldestin teamed Valse d’Avignere (7f Look de Star-Hermine d’Avignere) to victory at 7/1 timed in 1.13.3kr in this front-ending score. 19/1 Vestale du Goutier (7f Quido du Goutier-Olympe Pierji) was second for Anthony Barrier with third to 10/1 Princess Kronos (7f Donato Hanover-Malibu Princess) reined by Christophe Martens.
Danae Quesnot (3f Rocklyn-Megara) took the Prix d’Oloron (purse €46,000, 2700 meters, nine three year-old filly starters) for Eric Raffin. The winning filly at 9/1 rallied late between rivals for defeat 9/10 favorite Dynamite’s Fella (3f Ready Cash-Romane’s Fella) and driver Franck Nivard. Dynamite is trained by Fabrice Souloy for Hodij Coatings BV. 29/1 Divine Seven (3f Niky-Terre d’Any) stormed down the outside for Alexandre Abrivard to be third, she owned and trained by J-M Bazire. Pacesetter 3.6/1 Douchka Love (3f Love You-Shucca) held fourth for Bernard Piton, trainer Benedetto Marigliano and owner Jean-Pierre Dubois. The winner and field showed a quick final 500 meters to be timed in 1.17.8kr after very slow fractions (1.19.4kr at 1500 to go; 1.19kr at the 1000 and 500 to go posts).
Today’s Prix de Juan les Pins (purse €46,000, 2700 meters, 17 European entrants) went to 12/1 Armess de Guez (6f Fleuron Perrine-Obiana de Guez) with J-M Bazire, the trainer, up for Ecurie Vautors. 24/1 Algue d’Occagnes (6f Odeisis de Vandel-Occa Pierre) was second for Franck Ouvrie with Delphine Flevo (6f Sugar Trader-Volga River) third at 10/1 for Rick Ebbinge. 26/1 Riviera As (f Cantab Hall-Fortune As) was fourth for Gabriele Gelormini.
