The unbeaten Gimpanzee (Brian Sears) has been installed as the 9-5 morning line favorite in the first division ($53,500). The colt by Chapter Seven-Steamy Windows is trained by Marcus Melander for owners Courant Inc. and S R F Stable.
He has won four legs of the NYSS in his four starts. His wins were at Monticello ($27,750), Tioga Downs ($37,966), Saratoga ($54.500), and Yonkers ($80,200).
The second morning line choice in the first division is the Jim Campbell trained Chapter Fashion (Jason Bartlett) at 2-1.
The gelding by Chapter Seven-New Hampshire girl has two wins in five starts. Owned by Fashion Farms LLC., he won a Tompkins Memorial race at
Tioga Downs ($28,650) and a leg of the NYSS at Yonkers ($80,200).
In the second division of the NYSS ($54,500), the 2-1 morning line favorite is Thunder (Jason Bartlett). The colt by Conway Hall-Cr Oh Susanna is trained by
John Butenscoen for Crawford Farms Racing, VIP Internet Stable, and J. Day. He has won two legs of the NYSS. His wins were at Saratoga ($54,500) and Batavia Downs ($54,500).
Cavill Hanover (Ake Svanstedt) is the second choice at 3-1. The gelding by Muscle Mass-Cr Calendar is trained by Svanstedt for owners Little E LLC., Wolfgang A Stable inc., and Borje Naastrom. He is three for five in his young career. He won legs of the NYSS at Monticello ($27,750), Tioga Downs ($37,966), and Batavia Downs ($54,500).
