The Pepsi North America Cup is this season's first major test for harness racing three-year-old pacers. Yeah, some will mention the Somebeachsomewhere, the New Jersey Classic or the Rooney, but they are all merely appetizers. The meat and potatoes of the sophomore pacing stakes season begins Saturday and continues with the Meadowlands Pace, the Adios, The Jug, and more.

Saturday's card at Mohawk features the $1.5 million NA Cup, along with the $519,000C ElegantImage (3yo filly trotters), $347,000C Goodtimes (3yo trotters), and $601,000C Fan Hanover (3yo filly pacers). Let's dig into each event by way of the many elimination races.
