Vintage Master - the winner of 17 races and $2,162,979 .

Nevele R Stud is thrilled to announce that world champion pacer and double millionaire Vintage Master (p4, 1:48.2f $2,160,953) will be joining Nevele R's on-farm stallion ranks this coming breeding season.

A multiple stakes placed two-year-old, Vintage Master paced 1:55 or better in every one of his 12 starts as a juvenile. He was one of the standout three-year-olds of his crop winning more than $1.3 million in stakes and capturing some of North America’s most prestigious races, in particular the Cane Pace, Delvin Miller Adios Final, Tattersalls Pace and Bluegrass Stakes.

He also finished second in the Meadowlands Pace, New Jersey Classic and New Jersey Sires Stakes Final.

His 1:50.8h score in the Cane Pace was not only a Freehold track record but also a North American season’s record. Likewise, his Adios mark of 1:49.4f was a stakes and 5/8-mile track season’s record.

He twice set a 5/8-mile track world record as a four-year-old, winning the 4YO Open at Harrahs Chester in 1:48.8 before lowering his own world record the following month in an elim of the Ben Franklin series, stopping the clock in a scintillating 1:48.2. He also went on to win the $500,000 Ben Franklin Final a week later, downing some of North America’s best free-for-allers, in the process.

An incredibly sound individual, Vintage Master raced for four full seasons from the age of two through to his retirement to the breeding barn at the beginning of this year, racing against and beating the best each season. He recorded sub 1:50 victories for four consecutive seasons from the age of the three.

Rated by Hall of Fame trainer Jimmy Takter as his favourite horse, Takter had this to say about Vintage MasterHe gave it everything he had every time he went on the track. He went some monster miles no matter the trip. He could wear you down first over, he could hold you off cutting the mile, and could fly by you from behind.

Vintage Master’s outstanding racetrack career is matched by a superb pedigree with the handsome bay stallion by arguably North America’s most influential sire at the moment Western Ideal.

He is the second richest and second fastest son of Western Ideal, with only Rocknroll Hanover earning more and only American Ideal taking a quicker time.

Out of the good-producing Artsplace mare Art’s Vintage, Vintage Master is a full brother to the stakes winning juvenile Ideal Vintage p3, 1:50.4 ($431,976) and a three-quarter brother to Metro Stakes Elim winner and Metro Stakes place-getter Great Vintage p, 1:49.6f ($313,248).

He is from one of the most sought after maternal families in the stud book with his second dam, Napa Valley (by Most Happy Fella), a full sister to the champion two and three year old filly and Hall of Fame mare Silk Stockings. The third dam Maryellen Hanover (by Tar Heel) was the dam of ten winners including three world champions.

Nevele R Stud General Manager Peter O’Rourke said “We have had Vintage Master on our radar since he won the Cane Pace in a track record equalling 1.50.8h and the Adios in a stakes and seasons record of 1.49.4f. He raced without boots and won on all sized tracks, twice lowering the world record on a 5/8th track as a four year old and his maternal family boasts an unbroken line of producing mares by leading sires of the day in Artsplace, Most Happy Fella, Tar Heel and Adios.”

Vintage Master’s 2012 service fee will be announced next week.
